Win vs Westmoreland Highlights Volleyball Road Weekend

ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team played four road matches over the weekend, highlighted by a five-set win at Westmoreland Friday evening. The win marks the fifth over the Wolfpack in their last six meetings.

AACC won the first set against the Wolfpack before surrendering the next two. The Riverhawks claimed a 25-20 win in the fourth and won the deciding set, 15-6.

Later Friday evening, AACC fell to Howard, 3-1, at Westmoreland. Howard won the first set, but AACC held on for an epic 31-29 second set victory. Howard claimed the third and fourth sets (25-18, 25-11) to avenge an early-season five-set loss at AACC.

On Saturday, the Riverhawks faced host Butler County and Kent State Tuscarawas in a tri match at the BC3 Recreation Center.  The Pioneers, ranked 13th in NJCAA Division III, defeated the Riverhawks, 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 25-22) in a close match. After dropping the first two sets against Kent State, AACC claimed a 26-24 win in the third set in a 3-1 loss.

Jaymee Green recorded 44 kills, 20 digs, and 14 blocks on the weekend (six solo, eight block assists). Mia Keen added 35 kills and 61 assists. Lluvia Owens-Pabon recorded 16 kills, 20 digs, and nine assists.

AACC plays its final two home games this week, hosting divisional foe Harford Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Division III Penn Highlands Thursday at 6 p.m. Thursday's game will be a pink out in support of breast cancer awareness; fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game.
