Volleyball Outlasts Penn Highlands for Trip to Region Title Tilt

ARNOLD, MD – The second seeded Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team rallied past third seed Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in five sets to advance to the NJCAA Region 20 Division III championship match Saturday. AACC won the first two sets, dropped the third and fourth, then recorded a .462 hitting percentage in the fifth to advance to the Riverhawks' first title game since 2018.

Karen Bautista recorded a career-high 22 kills in the match, to go with eight digs and an ace. Sydney Harris had 10 kills, 13 digs, and an ace. Elizabeth Jarboe totaled seven aces in the match to go with nine kills and a team-high four solo blocks. Megan Helinski posted 38 assists, a pair of aces, and 12 digs. Yesenia Rodriguez recorded a team-high and career best 18 digs.

Set scores of the match were AACC 25-22, 25-16, PHCC 25-21, 25-22, AACC 15-7.

AACC will face top seed and defending Region 20 champion Butler County Community College in the title game Saturday afternoon.
