Volleyball Falls in Doubleheader at Butler

BUTLER, PA – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team traveled to Region 20 Division III foe Butler County Community College Saturday, facing the Pioneers in back-to-back matches after Westmoreland had to pull out of the scheduled tri-match. Butler won both matches, 3-0.

Butler won the 11 am match with set scores of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-12. Karen Bautista led the Riverhawks' offense with five kills, while Anelae Reluya added three, a career-high.

Angela Lucero posted eight digs, and Elizabeth Jarboe recorded four solo blocks to go with one block assist. Katy Raynor was the top playmaker with eight assists.

In the 1 pm match at 25-15, 25-16, 25-12. Bautista and Sydney Harris each had five kills in the win. Megan Helinski recorded seven assists, while Raynor had nine. Jarboe was key at the net with three solo blocks. Lucero had eight digs again, while Reluya added seven.

AACC returns to Jenkins Gym to host Harford on Tuesday, October 5 at 6 pm.
