Women's Soccer Scores Early in Shutout of Garrett

ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team scored three first half goals in a 3-0 win over visiting Garrett College in NJCAA Region 20 action at Siegert Field Thursday afternoon. The Riverhawks (6-2-1) did not allow a shot on goal in the contest.

Mia Hull, Tadem Augustin, and Madelynn Rowe all scored in a six-minute span with two assists from Tina Tinelli and another from Makenzie Boyd.

Hull finished a cross from Boyd in the 15th minute. Augustin completed a through-ball from Tinelli in the 18th minute. And in the 21st minute, Tinelli shot off a corner set, but her shot careened off the crossbar. Rowe was there to head the ball in for the three-goal lead.

AACC outshot its visitors, 26-1 overall, but saw the Garrett keeper make 14 saves in the match. Riverhawks starting keeper McKenzie Lanham earned the win playing the first 68 minutes before Jasmin Godinez finished out the game.

Up next for AACC is a noon game Saturday September 30, at Monroe College in Rochester, N.Y.
