Women's Soccer Comeback Bid Falls Short at Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team's comeback bid at Frederick fell just short in a 3-2 loss to the Cougars Tuesday in NJCAA Region 20 action. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Riverhawks (4-2-1).

Frederick jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the 18th minute and extended its lead to three with a goal in the 54th minute.

Mia Hull finished a through ball from Makenzie Boyd to put the Riverhawks on the board in the 65th minute. Tadem Augustin followed in the 76th minute when she knocked home a loose rebound in front of the goal.

AACC kept the pressure on and had a chance to tie in the 83rd minute on a corner from Jaylin Sheffield. She played the ball in short, but the ensuing shot was blocked.

Jasmin Godinez made three saves in 90 minutes for the Riverhawks.

AACC is back in action at Siegert Field for a pair of games this weekend. The Riverhawks face Ocean County at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Middlesex College Sunday at 12 p.m.
