Champs! Women's Soccer Claims Mid-Atlantic District Title

SELDEN, N.Y. – Freshman Madelynn Rowe scored in the 98th minute to lift the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over host Suffolk Community College in the 2022 NJCAA DIII Mid-Atlantic District Women's Championship Saturday afternoon.

The Riverhawks advance to the NJCAA DIII Women's Championship November 9-13 at Herkimer Community College in Herkimer, N.Y. The national tournament appearance marks the first for the Riverhawks since 2014, the 11th time in program history and the sixth time under Head Coach Jim Griffiths.

Rowe converted a pass from Cassidy Smith for the game's golden goal with 2:02 left on the clock.

Netminder Ryann Brooks made seven saves in her debut between the pipes.

AACC did not commit a foul in the entire game and forced Suffolk into going offside four times in the game.
