Women's Soccer Bests Hagerstown, 2-1

HAGERSTOWN, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team secured an emotional 2-1 win at Hagerstown Tuesday evening.  Cassidy Smith scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute, and keeper Sarah Ward made five saves in the win.

AACC wasted no time getting on the board as Ryann Brooks found the back of the net just 44 seconds into the game off an assist from Kaitlyn Evans.

Hagerstown evened the score in the 76th minute and seemed to carry some momentum until AACC put on the pressure with three consecutive corner kicks. Hagerstown was then issued a red card and Daniela Cabral drove direct kick from just outside the box toward the near post where Cassidy Smith redirected it off her foot and into the net for her first career goal.

AACC continues its five-game road trip Tuesday in a 5 pm game at Montgomery College.
