Butler Outlasts Women's Basketball, 71-63

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team gave up an early lead in a 71-63 loss at Butler County Community College Saturday afternoon. Jada Turner scored a career-high 22 points in the game.

Sydney Woodland added 22 points while Syrena Boone recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Naomi Ray continued her impressive ways off the glass with 18 rebounds, this time with 12 coming on the offensive end.

The Riverhawks recorded a season-high 10 blocks in the game, with three each from Turner and Skylar Kaplan.

AACC returns to Jenkins Gym Wednesday, December 15, for a 5 pm game against CCBC Catonsville. The "Merry Swishmas!" game will feature a holiday theme and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council is accepting new utensil donations for the AACC Student Pantry. Anyone who brings in a new item to donate will be entered into a prize raffle to be drawn at halftime of the men's game. Items desired for the pantry include: measuring cup sets, measuring spoon sets, bowls (s/m/l), mixing spoons, whisks, spatulas, cutting boards, aluminum baking pans, aluminum muffin baking pans, plastic storage bags (gallon & quart), plastic wrap, storage containers, can openers, and colanders.
