Game Notes

            The Riverhawks hosted undefeated ASA College this past Thursday evening (1/18), where they lost to the Region XV Avengers out of Brooklyn, NY – 108-27. Unfortunately, low numbers and sickness left the Riverhawks with just six active players for the night, and struggled to keep up with the scoring-dominate Avengers.

            Jumping out early on the Riverhawks, ASA outscored AACC, 22-10 after the first quarter. With their controlling performance, the Avengers never slowed down for the remainder of the game, especially during the third quarter putting up 33 points to the Riverhawks 8, and finishing with 20 three-point buckets on the night.

            Low in numbers, the Riverhawks showed tremendous heart and effort to push through the full 40 min, Hannah Lieb (Annapolis, MD) finished with a double-double for the night with 10 points and 14 rebounds, and Daja Burnett (Arnold, MD/Severna Park) also finished with 10 points – just shy of a double-double herself with 9 rebounds.

            The Riverhawks will look to shake off the tough loss as they have a Regional & Conference match-up against the Lakers of Garrett College. Tip-off is scheduled for this Saturday (1/20) at 4:00 pm in the CARC Gymnasium of the Garrett College campus in McHenry, MD.
