Evans Scores Career High in Win over Howard

COLUMBIA, MD – Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team defeated host Howard Community College 67-53, Monday night.  The NJCAA DII Region 20 Dragons drop to 0-5 on the season as the Riverhawks improve to 4-7.

 

Leading for the Riverhawks was sophomore Alexxis Evans (Millersville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) who posted a career high of 27 points in the win over the Dragons. A usual starter for AACC, Evans put up 19 of the 36 points scored in the second half for the Riverhawks.

 

Behind Evans was Alesha Moses (Laurel, MD/Old Mill) who scored a season high and posted her third double-double of the season with the 11 rebounds she grabbed and the 19 points she scored.

 

AACC will continue to practice through the week as they prepare for a busy weekend as they will take on NJCAA DII Region 10 Louisburg College Friday night at 7:00 p.m. followed by NJCAA DII Region 20 Hagerstown Community College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  Both games will be held in the Jenkins Gymnasium at Anne Arundel Community College.
