Guillen Hat Trick Leads Men's Soccer Past VPCC

ARNOLD, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team used four second-half goals to break open the game in a 7-2 victory over visiting Virginia Peninsula Community College Thursday at Siegert Field. Freshman Brian Guillen recorded a natural hat trick in the first half of the win.

Ethan Belcher added two goals and two assists, while Eli Belcher and Jose Rodriguez scored goals. Charlie Meehan picked up an assist.

The Gators (0-2-0) scored in the third minute of the game before Guillen went to work with goals in the sixth, seventh, and 11th minutes.

VPCC added another fluke goal in the 21st minute, but AACC (2-0-1) settled and held command for the rest of the game.

Ethan Belcher added back-to-back unassisted goals in the 48th and 63rd minutes before Eli Belcher notched a goal in the 81st minute. Rodriguez closed out the scoring in the 83rd minute.

Starting keeper Jayeim Blake made two saves in 81 minutes before giving way to Michael Capo, who stopped the lone shot he faced in the final nine minutes.

AACC outshot VPCC, 36-6, in the game and did not allow a corner kick in the game while tallying 13 of their own.

The Riverhawks are back in action on Thursday, September 7, in a 5 p.m. game against No. 3 CCBC Essex at Siegert Field.
