Balanced Attack Leads Men's Soccer Past Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team scored three goals in each half en route to a 6-1 victory at Division I Hagerstown Tuesday afternoon. Led by back-to-back second half goals from Ethan Belcher, the Riverhawks had seven different players record at least one point.

Jackson Behegan added a goal and an assist. Malik Williamson, Brian Guillen, and Dominic Breeden each scored goals, while Mason Switzer and Eli Belcher picked up assists.

Behegan put the Riverhawks on the board in the 12th minute with an unassisted strike. Hagerstown knotted the game just over two minutes later, after which it was all AACC.

Behegan assisted Williamson to take the lead in the 28th minute, and less than a minute later, Guillen gave the Riverhawks a two-goal cushion.

After the break, Ethan Belcher hit an unassisted tally in the 54th minute before striking again in the 57th minute off a pass from Eli Belcher.

Breeden capped the scoring in the 64th minute with the assist from Switzer off a corner set.

The Riverhawks dominated on both sides of the field, outshooting Hagerstown at a 26-2 clip, and holding a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.

AACC keeper Jayeim Blake faced just one shot in the first half in his collegiate debut.

The Riverhawks are back in action on Thursday, August 31, in a 4 p.m. home game against Virginia Peninsula Community College at Siegert Field.
