COLUMBIA, MD – The eighth-ranked Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team fell to Division II Howard Community College, 4-1, Thursday afternoon. Leyton Calzado scored for the Riverhawks.
Juan Zavala Hernandez lofted a ball across the box to Calzado, who crashed in at the right post for his third goal of the season in the 19th minute. The goal tied up the game after the Dragons had scored in the 15th minute.
Howard wasted no time in retaking the lead as Abdoul Camara scored his second goal of the game in the 22nd minute. The midfielder completed the hat trick in the 70th minute. The Dragons' third goal came in the 35th minute.
AACC was outshot, 23-8, in the game, and Riverhawks keeper Edgar Garcia made seven saves in the loss.
AACC is back in action at home on Tuesday, October 4, in a 7 p.m. game against Frederick Community College.
