No. 6 Men's Soccer Breezes Past Cecil

ARNOLD, MD – The No. 6 Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 6-0 victory over visiting Cecil College Tuesday afternoon at Siegert Field. Matthew Sutter and Lizandro Tuchez Martinez each had a goal and an assist for the Riverhawks.

Leyton Calzado, Juan DeNardo, Davis Bosley, and Malik Williamson also scored for the Riverhawks. Mo Sary and Dominic Breeden recorded assists.

Keeper Edgar Garcia made a pair of saves in the first 73 minute, while Guilherme Borba kept the clean sheet the rest of the way.

Sutter opened the scoring just 32 seconds into the game with an unassisted tally. Bosley followed less than 90 seconds later by completing a long pass from Tuchez Martinez.

DeNardo scored in the 17th minute finishing a pass from Sary to make it 3-0 AACC. Tuchez Martinez popped in a loose ball off a Breeden header in the 28th minute to cap the first half scoring.

In the second half Sutter sent a long ball ahead to Calzado for a five-goal lead in the 64th minute, and Williamson dribbled around a defender before scoring on a low laser in the 80th minute.

AACC outshot Cecil, 29-5, and held a 12-0 lead in corner kicks. Through five games of the season, the Riverhawks have held opponents to just 11 shots on goal.

Up next, AACC hosts Hagerstown Thursday, September 15, in a 5 pm game at Siegert Field.
