ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team fell to visiting College of Southern Maryland, 1-0, Thursday evening at Siegert Field. An AACC own goal in the 70th minute stood as the lone score of the game.

After a slow first half, both teams picked up both the tempo and intensity in the second stanza. AACC controlled the pace of the game, and thought they might have gotten on the board in the board in the 59th minute as a throw-in from Sam Adams sailed into the net, just missing the toe of Armin Lugonjic on the opposite side. The goal was disallowed.

The ball didn't seem to bounce the Riverhawks' way at all during the game, and careened off a defender for an own goal in the 70th minute.

A CSM shot clanged off the post in the 78th minute, and then the game's intensity began to skyrocket. Each team was cared in the 82nd minute, yet the Riverhawks kept possession through the end of the game. Again, unlucky AACC's final three shots went wide.

Ethan Miller shouldered the loss with seven saves.

AACC is idle until Saturday, September 11, when the Riverhakws host Westmoreland in a noon game at the Severn School.
