No. 1 Harford tops No. 6 Men's Lacrosse in Region 20 Semis

BALTIMORE, MD – The sixth-ranked Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team fell to top-ranked Harford Community College, 13-5, in the NJCAA Region 20 semifinals Friday afternoon at CCBC Essex. The Riverhawks were led by two goals each from Sam Barrett and Dylan Lavat.

AACC goalkeeper Chris Savani made 18 saves in the game, matching his career high.

Trevor Collier added a goal, Sam Kelley had two assists, and Evan Park assisted another goal.

Harford led, 3-1, after the first quarter, and 6-2 at halftime. The Owls outscored the Riverhawks, 3-2, in the third quarter before Lavat cut the lead back to four with the first goal of the final quarter. Harford scored four unanswered goals to close out the game.

Both teams were 25-of-29 in clear attempts. Harford led the battle at the faceoff x, winning 15 of 22. Harford led in shots, 43-33, and groundballs, 43-23.

Savani and Lavat earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.

The Riverhawks conclude their season with a 6-6 record.
