No. 6 Men's Lax Splits Road Trip at Nassau, Union

ARNOLD, MD – The sixth-ranked Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team picked up a win and a loss to close out the regular season this week. A late surge from No. 5 Nassau sank the Riverhawks on Tuesday, 10-7, and the team bounced back with a 19-2 win at Union County on Wednesday.

Nick Barton scored twice against the Lions, Trevor Collier scored a goal and two helpers, and Sam Kelley added a goal and an assist.  Goalkeeper Chris Savani made eight saves for AACC, and Bobby Ruel went 6-for-10 at the faceoff x.

Against the Owls, 10 different players recorded at least one point. Barton and Payton Williams each had a hat trick and an assist, while Julian Burgess recorded a hat trick. Ryan Frick scored twice and assisted three other goals. Dylan Lavat had two goals and an assist, and Ben Wilson scored twice. Defenseman Brandon Grusholt recorded two assists.

Savani made five saves in 20 minutes in net before giving way to Griffin Tucker, who made two saves in 30 minutes. John Inkrote closed out the game with three saves on three shots.

Next up for AACC is the Region 20 Tournament hosted by CCBC Essex. Semifinals are scheduled for Friday, April 29.
