#6 Men's Lacrosse Runs Past Carroll

WESTMINSTER, MD – The 6th-ranked Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team ran past Carroll, 22-5, Wednesday afternoon in NJCAA Region 20 action. Twelve different Riverhawks recorded at least one point, led by a career-high eight goals from Ben Wilson.

Ryan Frick scored three goals and assisted five others; Trevor Collier added two goals and four helpers. Dylan Lavat scored twice and added an assist. Andrew Smith and Sam Barrett each scored twice.

Carroll struck first in the game, but AACC rattled off four-straight goals to make a statement. Carroll closed the first quarter on a three-goal run, but it was all AACC after that as the Riverhawks scored 16 unanswered to close out the game.

AACC was dominant in faceoffs, winning 27 of 31, including every faceoff of the second half. Mark Kelm won 13 of 16, and Bobby Ruel won 13 of 14 at the X.

The Riverhawks outshot their hosts at a 61-35 margin, and cleared the ball 16 times in 19 attempts.

In goal, Chris Savani earned the win with nine saves in just over 40 minutes in net. Griffin Tucker and John Inkrote split the rest of the time, each making three saves and allowing no goals.

AACC is idle until April 13 when the Riverhawks travel to Mercer for a 4 p.m. game.
