Men's Lax Drops Region Game at No. 2 Harford

BEL AIR, MD – The seventh-ranked Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team dropped its Region 20 opener at second-ranked Harford Wednesday, 17-10. The Riverhawks were led by three goals and an assist from attackman Trevor Collier.

The teams traded goals in the first quarter before Harford potted two-straight to end the frame with a 4-2 lead. It was more of the same in the second as the Owls and Riverhawks traded goals early on before Collier scored an unassisted strike with less than a minute remaining in the half, cutting Harford's lead to 6-4 headed into the break.

AACC tied it up early in the third, but Harford went on a five-goal run to command an 11-6 advantage.

Long pole Alan Usher halted the streak with his first career goal with just 42 seconds left in the frame. AACC won the ensuing faceoff, setting up Collier for his second goal of the day with just three ticks left in the quarter to make it 11-8 in favor of Harford.

The Owls used a four-goal streak in the fourth to pull away, using one of four man-up goals on the day to extend the lead. AACC meanwhile, was scoreless in seven man-up opportunities.

AACC keeper Chris Savani made 16 saves in net, including 10 in the third quarter.

The Riverhawks are back in action on Sunday, March 13, in a 12 pm game at top-ranked Nassau.
