EDGEWATER, MD -- The Anne Arundel County Community College golf team secured a 30-shot victory over Hagerstown Community College at The Golf Club at South River Thursday afternoon. The Riverhawks combined for a team score of 322.

Sophomore Dylan Weiss shot a field-low 36 on the back nine to card a 77 and claim his first career individual title.

Austin Smith finished third overall with a 79, including a back nine charge of 38. Chase Kasulke also shot 38 on the back nine to finish in 5th place with an 81.

Continuing his steady improvement, Jacob Haloskey carded a career best 86, to round out the Riverhawks scoring attack, edging out teammate Diante Dozier, 87 for 7th place. Dozier was the fourth Riverhawk to break 40 on the back nine with a 39. David Henderson improved 17 stokes as well, carding a 105.

First year head coach Dave O'Donnell needed only one word to describe his team's play today, "Boom." He continued, "This is how I know this team can play. The composure everyone had on the back nine today was really impressive, especially when the wind kicked up and brought in some rain. I am super proud of the effort everyone has given this season and today it all paid off."

The Riverhawks are back in action next week as they travel to Bent Creek Country Club to compete in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Monday, April 18, before returning to conference play on Thursday in the MDJUCO Championships at Beaver Creek Golf Club in Hagerstown, Md. They then wrap up regular-season competition against Region 20 foes at Lake Arthur Golf Club in Butler, Pa on Friday.
