Men's Golf Headed to Nationals with Region XX Tournament Championship Win

APOLLO, PA – The Anne Arundel Community College men's golf team won the 2016 NJCAA DIII Region XX Tournament this week and have earned a spot at the NJCAA National Division III tournament held at the Chautauqua Golf Club in New York.

The Region XX tournament was held at The Links of Spring Church (PA) May 9th-10th.  After the two-round play, the Riverhawks had placed themselves high enough on the leaderboard to secure the overall team win.

Low man for AACC was William Miles III shooting a 152 for the two rounds, earning him second place overall.  John Sganga took third with a 153, Joshua Maisel took fourth with a 154, Charles Kelm tied for sixth with a 162, and Sean Creel took tenth with a 171.

It has been a great season for the Riverhawks as they consistently placed high during season match-play, and as they extend their season to the National Tournament the golf team will be representing AACC as the last remaining spring sport still in post-season competition.
