Men's Basketball Rallies Past Beaver County in OT

ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team rallied from a double-digit deficit to top visiting Community College of Beaver County, 69-60, in overtime Saturday in NJCAA Region 20 divisional action at Jenkins Gym.

The Riverhawks (9-12, 5-5) took their first lead of the game midway through the second half on a 10-0 run that put them up three, 46-43. The teams battled it out, changing leads seven times until Jeremiah Stroman went to the free throw line with four seconds left in the game. Stroman swished both shots to force extra time.

AACC was in high gear in the overtime session, outscoring the Titans, 11-0 from the floor and limiting CCBC just two points at the charity stripe.  Back-to-back three-pointers from Stroman and Nicholas Augusterfer put AACC comfortably ahead, and Angelo Harris put an exclamation point on the win with a dunk on the next possession.

Stroman led all scorers with 25 points to go with six assists and four steals. Kris Peet picked up his sixth double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Harris scored 10 points – eight in the second half and overtime - to go with eight rebounds off the bench.

The Riverhawks narrowly led in rebounds, 44-40, while the Titans claimed the battle for points in the paint at a 32-22 clip.

Prior to the game, AACC recognized the three sophomores who were playing in their final home game: Stroman, Augusterfer, and Chris Thomas.

The Riverhawks play their final three regular season games on the road, starting with a 7 p.m. game at Prince George's on Wednesday, February 7.
