Div. I Harford Tops Men's Basketball

BEL AIR, Md. – The Harford Community College men's basketball team topped visiting Anne Arundel Community College, 95-72, Wednesday night in Region 20 action. The Riverhawks got 17 points each from Jeremiah Stroman and Kris Peet.

Peet shot 2-of-4 from three-point range and added eight rebounds. Chris Thomas sank back-to-back three-pointers late in the first half and totaled eight points in 18 minutes on the floor.

Harford built a double digit lead before the halfway point of the opening half. AACC twice cut the lead back to single digits in the first, but ultimately headed into the locker room trailing, 46-35, at the break.

The Owls opened the second half on a 7-0 run before Peet sank a jumper at the 17:44 mark. Harford extended its lead to as many as 27 with under five minutes to play. AACC limited Harford to two points over the final three minutes of the game.

Harford shot 54.4% from the floor in the game and generated 37 points off of 27 Riverhawks turnovers. The Owls used their size to net 64 points in the paint.

AACC continues its road trip with games at Penn Highlands and Garrett this weekend. The Riverhawks take on the Black Bears Friday at 6 p.m. and face the Lakers Saturday at 3 p.m. in a Region 20 divisional game.
