Men's Basketball Drops Regular Season Finale to Howard

ARNOLD, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team closed out regular season action Tuesday evening hosting Division II Howard in a 106-70 loss in Jenkins Gym. Malik Carroll scored 19 points to lead the Riverhawks, who shot 47% in the game.

Truth Norton added 14 points and six rebounds. Marquis James recorded nine points and dealt four assists. The Riverhawks nabbed two thirds of the Dragons' missed shots, corralling 22 defensive rebounds in the game.

Howard shot almost 70% from the floor in the first half before simmering to a hot 57% across both halves. The Dragons scored 60 points in the paint and generated 31 points off of AACC's 22 turnovers.

Both teams saw every player on the court score at least two points.

Next up for Anne Arundel is the NJCAA Region 20 Division III Tournament. The third seeded Riverhawks face second seed Prince George's at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, in the semifinals at Westmoreland County Community College. Championship Sunday tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
