Young Named Region 20, MDJUCO Player of the Month

ARNOLD, MD – Sophomore forward Jamar Young has been named the NJCAA Region 20 Division III Men's Basketball Player of the Month and the Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Month for games in November, 2021. Young shot 50% during the month and recorded 28 points in AACC's upset road win at defending national champion Sandhills on November 5.

Young went 31-62 from the floor and averaged 13 points per game through five contests in the month of November, only one of which was at home. He pulled down five rebounds and dished three assists per game during the span.

At then number one-ranked Sandhills, Young scored a season-high 28 points on 13-17 shooting (76.5%) to go with seven rebounds and four assists.

In the Riverhawks' only home game in November, Young scored 16 points to go with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals, in a 78-72 win against the McDaniel JV team on November 15. He scored 11 points with six rebounds and six assists in 28 minutes on the court at Prince George's on November 19. 

Overall this season, Young is shooting 53% from the floor with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists per game, scoring 20+ points in four of nine games.

AACC heads into the semester break with a 6-5 record and on a three-game win streak. The Riverhawks open the second semester schedule with a 7 pm game at Delaware Tech on January 5, 2022.
