PINEHURST, N.C. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team upset No. 1 ranked Sandhills Community College, 82-75, Saturday afternoon. Jamar Young led AACC with 28 points.  

AACC led, 38-33, at halftime en route to the huge win. Young shot a blistering 76.5% (13-for-17) on the day, and also pulled down seven boards to go with four assists.

Michael Cantrell had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, 10 of which came off the defensive glass. Cantrell also went 7-for-7 at the free throw line and recorded five assists and four steals to lead the Riverhawks.

Braeden Cavey scored 17 points, shooting 50% from three-point range. He pulled down eight defensive rebounds while playing all 40 minutes.

Dayejon Harris also scored in double digits, netting 12 points to go with four boards and four assists.

AACC returns to action Saturday in a 1 pm game against Central Carolina at Sandhills.
