ARNOLD, Md. – Anne Arundel Community College baseball player John Greenawalt has been named the NJCAA Region 20 Division II Baseball Player of the Month for games in March, 2024, it was announced Thursday.

Greenawalt hit .537 (36-67) with hits in all but two of the Riverhawks' 19 games in March, closing out the month on a seven-game hit streak. He had 13 multi-hit games and totaled six extra base hits. The second baseman drove in 11 runs and crossed the plate 20 times. In 81 plate appearances, Greenawalt had six sacrifices and drew six walks. On the basepath, he was successful in all four stolen base attempts. In the field, Greenawalt turned seven double plays for the Riverhawks, who went 13-6 in the month.

A sophomore from Odenton, Md., Greenawalt leads Region 20 and ranks sixth in NJCAA Division II in batting average; he also leads the Region and ranks seventh nationally in hits with 56.

AACC faces Prince George's on the road Thursday, April 4, in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
