Palmer Named NJCAA Runner of the Week

CHARLOTTE, NC – The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced that Anne Arundel Community College freshman runner Madison Palmer has been named the NJCAA Division III Runner of the Week for competition ending September 26, 2021. Palmer was a top-25 finisher and ran a PR at last weekend's Towson Alumni Invitational.

Running against some of the region's top NCAA Division I teams, Palmer placed 21st in the 51-runner race held at the Baltimore Agricultural Center in Cockeysville, Maryland. Her time of 21:24.95 was the best of her collegiate career.

"Madison is the tenacious leader every coach hopes for," said Head Coach Susan Noble. "She is a determined student-athlete who prepares diligently for every competition and gives her best. She is a dream to coach and has helped make a group of student-athletes who didn't know each other a cohesive and motivated team."

Palmer took top individual honors at the sixth-ranked Riverhawks' two previous meets – the Blazer Twilight Invitational at Hood College on September 3 and the Green Terror Challenge at McDaniel College on September 10.

AACC travels to Salisbury University for the Don Cathcart Invitational on October 2. Race time for the women is 10 am.
