Women's Cross Country Enters National Rankings at No. 6

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Anne Arundel Community College women's cross country team has entered the 2021 NJCAA DIII Women's Cross Country National Coaches' rankings in the sixth spot of the September 22, 2021 poll, it was announced on Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

After sitting out the 2020 season due to COVID-19, the Riverhawks have competed at two races this fall, claiming the top spot at the Green Terror Challenge on September 10th, and finishing second at the Blazer Twilight Invitational on September 3.

Freshman Madison Palmer was the top individual finisher at both events. The Riverhawks placed all five runners in the top 10 at the Blazer Twilight Invitational, and saw three finish in the top 10 at the Green Terror Challenge.

"You would never know this team came together less than two months ago," said Head Coach Susan Noble. "They define teamwork both in practice and in competition. I am so proud to watch their progress."

AACC competes exclusively at four-year college meets this season before heading to the Region 20/MDJUCO Championship on October 30. The NJCAA Division III National Championships follow on November 13 at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia.
