Cross Country Opens Season at Baltimore Metro Meet

TOWSON, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's and women's cross country teams opened the season at the Baltimore Metro Meet hosted by Goucher College Thursday evening.

On the women's side, Bailey Healy ran the 5k course in 25:14.3, finishing in 78th place in the 108-runner field. Noelle Somers finished in 96th place with a time of 28:33.0. Defending NCAA Division III Johns Hopkins won the event with a team score of 24.

The men's team also ran a 5k in the early-season race, with Spencer Woodbury leading the Riverhawks in 88th place with a time of 20:12.5. Trent Palmer finished two spots behind in his first collegiate race with a time of 20:36.4. Justin Abell finished in 106th place with a time of 24:53.2. NCAA Division III Johns Hopkins won the men's race with the top 16 finishers all coming from the Blue Jays.

Anne Arundel is back in action on Saturday, September 17, at the Penn State Mont Alto Invitational.
