Riverhawks Among Conference Leader Boards

ARNOLD, MD – Five Riverhawk athletes have earned top rankings for individual stats among the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference.  Listed are Bailey Foust and Deanna Valerien for women's soccer and Nicolette Powell and Kathryn Hawes for women's volleyball.

 

Ranked second in the conference for her 16 goals, Foust has proven herself to be a scoring asset for the women's soccer team.  For overall points, her 35 have earned her a fifth place ranking as well.

 

At the other end of the field, Valerien has earned a third place ranking for her 110 saves on the season.

 

The women's soccer team is currently 4-4 in the conference (6-9 overall) as they prepare to compete in the NJCAA DIII Region Tournament, set for October 27th-29th, with seeding and scheduling to be determined.

 

For women's volleyball, Powell is ranked first in the conference for service aces per set (0.93) and fourth in the conference for kills per set (3.00), while Hawes is ranked third for assists per set (7.25).

 

The women's volleyball team is 4-9 so far and will finish their regular season with a tri-match against Pitt Community College, Harford Community College, and Northern Virginia Community College.  The matches will be hosted by Northern Virginia Community College this Saturday (10/22/2016), beginning at 9:30 am.
