ROCHESTER - Anne Arundel Community College broke an 8-all tie with two early scores in the fourth quarter and held on for a 10-9 win over Monroe in a men's lacrosse matchup Friday afternoon.
The ninth-ranked Tribunes fell to 3-2 with the defeat.
Trailing 8-6 late in the third, Monroe got goals from Ian Mohr and Jared George just before time ran out to tie it up heading to the fourth quarter.
The Riverhawks responded right away, scoring a pair of goals early in the fourth to reclaim the two-goal lead. Jeremy Powers scored for Monroe late in the contest, but the Tribunes couldn't come up with the equalizer.
Kasey Olsen finished with two goals and an assist and Powers also scored twice for MCC. Jake Moss had a goal and an assist, and Mohr, George, David Lehman, and Matt McDowell all scored once.
