Roadrunner Softball Overcomes Early Deficit to Complete Sweep of Anne Arundel CC (MD) and Extend Win Streak to 8

​​​​​Freshman Gia Cerminaro drove in four runs on two hits while teammates Christina Wilgus and Jackie Lesher knocked in three runs each to help the RCGC softball team rally from an early deficit for a 13-5 victory over Anne​ Arundel CC (MD) to complete a sweep of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon. ​

The Roadrunners fell behind 5-0 before erupting for 10 runs in the fourth inning for a 10-5 lead. 
 
Lesher hurled five innings to earn the pitching win. 
 
In the opener, RCGC posted a 7-3 triumph as MacKenzie Lafferty earned the win with 5 2/3 innings, with relief help from Cerminaro. 
 
Sophomore centerfielder Nicolette Gentile knocked in two runs on two hits while Emma Coleman and Kim Alexander added two hits each for the winners. 
 
The Roadrunners, No. 6 in the NJCAA Division III National Rankings, improved to 17-10 overall with the pair of wins. They have now won eight straight games heading into Sunday's doubleheader at Cecil College​.​
