Volleyball Concludes Season in Region XX Tournament

BUTLER, PA – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team concluded the season at the Region XX Championships Saturday afternoon. The Riverhawks fell to CCAC, 3-0, in the semifinals, and dropped the consolation game to Howard Community College, 3-0, in the afternoon.

In the opening match, AACC fell to the Wild Cats, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19. The Riverhawks then dropped the match to Howard, falling 25-17, 25-19, 25-10.

All-Tournament selection Karen Bautista Carmona recorded seven kills, six digs and a block in the opening match. Taliyah Johnson added six kills against CCAC. Grace Lindemann assisted 15 of the Riverhawks' 23 kills in the opener, and libero Tara Gabrielsen recorded 16 digs.

Bautista Carmona added four kills and eight digs against Howard. Alle Forbes and Savannah Fisher each added four kills in the nightcap.

AACC finished the season with the most wins since 2012 under first year head coach Tatiana Cooper.
