ARNOLD, MD – Led by strong hitting from Alle Forbes, the Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team handed visiting CCBC Essex a 3-0 loss Tuesday evening. The win marks the fourth in the last five matches for the Riverhawks, who gained traction in the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MDJUCO) standings with the win.

AACC (7-3, 5-2 MDJUCO) won by scores of 25-9, 25-11, and 25-21. The Riverhawks easily handled the Knights in the first two sets before seeing the visitors take a 7-0 lead to start the third. It wasn't until midway through the final frame that AACC came alive, but Essex stayed right in the mix to the end.

Forbes finished the night with seven kills, three aces and a solo block. Karen Bautista Carmona added six kills, a pair of aces and five digs. Grace Lindemann had 14 assists and an ace, while Sylvia Frye recorded nine digs, an ace and a kill.

AACC, which has now posted the most wins in a season since 2014 (7-11), hosts Division II Northern Virginia Community College Thursday in a 7 pm match.
