ARNOLD, MD – Nine members of the Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team have earned Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MDJUCO) All Conference awards, it was announced recently. The Region XX champion Riverhawks saw nine student-athletes recognized, led by Defensive Player of the Year Lacey Hinkle.

Hinkle also earned First Team accolades and was joined by Jordan Snyder, Natalie Sonntag, Bridgette Tayman, and Alexis Heverly. Page Hamelryck, Sarah Healy, and Mariah Scott earned Second Team honors, while Jessica Grusholt was named to the Honorable Mention team.

Hinkle started all six conference games for the Riverhawks and anchored a defense that allowed just 21 shots and under 12.6 goals per game. The freshman also scored eight goals and had three assists to go with nine groundballs and a team-high six caused turnovers.

Snyder started all 13 games in which she played at midfield, scoring 41 goals to go with 27 assists for a total of 68 points. She connected on six of nine free position shots, and picked up 16 groundballs to go with 11 caused turnovers.

Sonntag led the Riverhawks in conference games with 33 points on a team-high 28 goals and five assists. She corralled a conference-high 58 draw controls and added 15 groundballs to her stat line.

Tayman was a top playmaker for the Riverhawks, starting all six conference games at midfield. She served as the primary draw taker for AACC, and snagged 13 draws on her own. She scored 15 goals on just 16 shots on net (84.2%) and added an assist, while scoring on three of five free-position shots. Her 15 groundballs led the team in conference play.

Heverly was a two-way player for AACC, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists in six starts at defense. She had five multiple-goal games in conference action.

Hamelryck scored five goals and had one assist in six conference starts at midfield. She had five caused turnovers in conference games, and added 11 groundballs.

In her first season at goalkeeper, Healy made 50 saves in six conference starts, backstopping the Riverhawks to a 4-2 record. Her 12.67 GAA was almost six goals lower than AACC's opponents.

Scott started all six games at midfield while scoring eight goals and adding a team-high eight assists. She corralled 10 draws and had four caused turnovers.

Grusholt scored 15 goals and had five assists in five conference games. She scored on four of six free position shots.

AACC finished the MDJUCO season at 4-2, finishing second in the standings to then-undefeated Harford.
