No. 3 Women's Lacrosse Hands Potomac State 21-2 Loss

ARNOLD, MD – The third-ranked Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team handed visiting Potomac State College of West Virginia a 21-2 loss on Saturday afternoon. The Riverhawks, winner of four of their last five games, had multiple-goal efforts from seven players, including a game-high four from Bridgette Tayman.

Jordan Snyder added three goals and two assists to go with three draw controls, while Alexis Heverly scored twice and assisted three others. Natalie Sonntag scored three goals and corralled eight of the Riverhawks' 21 draw controls – the second-highest team total of the season.

AACC (7-3) opened the game on a nine-goal run, which featured three free-position goals. Overall in the game the Riverhawks scored on 7 of 9 free position shots in the game.

 Potomac State (1-8) got on the board with 11:06 remaining in the first half before AACC closed the half with three-straight, spaked by a man-up goal from Victory Ho.

Leading 12-1 at the break, the Riverhawks rattled of six more goals before the Catamounts' Drew Sharman potted a free-position goal with 12:52 left to play. It was Potomac State's only free position attempt of the game.

AACC scored three more goals in the final 10 minutes, including another man-up goal, this time from Tayman.

Sarah Healy made one save in the first half to earn the win, while Catamounts goalkeeper Madison Gunter stopped five.

AACC outshot the visitors, 29-3, and was perfect in the clear at 8-for-8. The ride held Potomac State to a 7-for-12 effort. The Catamounts turned the ball over 11 times, forced by the Riverhawks on six occasions. AACC, committed seven turnovers, forced just twice.

AACC hosts Howard Community College in a rescheduled game on Tuesday, April 30 at 6 pm, in the Riverhawks' regular-season finale.
