Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's soccer team picked up an important win this week (10/2), defeating Regional, Conference & Divisional opponents; Dragons from Howard Community College.

Aggressive play from each team contributed to the heated, seemingly even match-up, but it would be Mayglin Estrada (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) who would put the Riverhawks on top, finishing off an assist from Peter Roberts (Pasadena, MD/Archbishop Spalding) at the 19th minute of the first half. With Ryan Owens (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) leading the defense and Austin Noland (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) in goal, the Riverhawks would finish out the half, leading 1-0 over Howard.

AACC would get some great opportunities to score in the second half, but unfortunate aim and excellent play by the Dragon goalkeeper would hold the Riverhawks at one goal. Also making some great plays, Noland would record 3 saves in the second half to maintain the Riverhawks' lead. With neither team able to find the net in the second half, AACC would earn the 1-0 match victory from the early Estrada/Roberts connection.
