Schwartz, Weller Lead Golf to Runner Up Finish at Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, MDLuke Schwartz and Michael Weller led the Anne Arundel Community College golf team to a second-place finish at Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown Thursday. The Riverhawks finished 17 strokes behind first-place College of Southern Maryland (352), and finished 8 strokes ahead of third-place Garrett College (377). 

Schwartz and Weller finished in a tie for 4th each with an 88 (+16) scorecard. Alex Colonna (96) and Mason Yeager (97) rounded out the Riverhawks' scoring in 10th and 13th place respectively. Schwartz and Weller each earned 13.5 points toward the Maryland JUCO standings, while Colonna added 7.5 and Yeager chipped in with five.

William Garrett of College of Southern Maryland took the top individual place with a 78 (+6). His teammate, Tyler Potts, finished second overall with an 82 (+10). Third individual place went to Zach Harvey of Garrett College. 

Schwartz ranks fourth in MD JUCO season points total with 25.5, behind Potts, Garrett, and Brett Baile of Hagerstown CC.

The Riverhawks are back in action on April 11th at a match at Cumberland Country Club, hosted by Allegany College of Maryland. Tee time is noon.
