AACC Men's Basketball Falls to Prince George's Community College

ARNOLD, MD - Anne Arundel Community College trailed for the majority of their NJCAA DIII conference loss against Prince George's Community College, but relentless efforts allowed the Riverhawks to keep the game close -  trailing by as little as 1 point with approximately 3 min left to play.

Patrick Johnson-Agwu scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half of the contest but it was his 6 points in the final few minutes that proved to be the momentum changer for the Owls as they quickly pulled away and ultimately, won by 18.

Lavonte Sanders led for Prince George's Community College with 20 points and 9 rebounds as Wesley Bennett led the Riverhawks with 21 points.  Marcus Dentley contributed 19 points for AACC before fouling out in the second half.

Johnson-Agwu's powerful drives, ending in above the rim and alley-oop finishes, paired with Jared Warrick's 3-point baskets from the  corner, came too fast for the Riverhawks in the concluding minutes, as they ultimately lost, 93-75.

Inclement weather has postponed the Riverhawks' scheduled weekend match-up at Frederick Community College so they will set to prepare for another MD JUCO conference and divisional match-up against Montgomery College.  Home tip-off is set for Wednesday (1/27) at 7:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Gymnasium.
