HAGERSTOWN, MD – After a comeback bid fell short in the first game, the Anne Arundel Community College baseball team was swept at Hagerstown Saturday afternoon. The Riverhawks were edged in the first game, 7-6, before falling 8-1 in the nightcap.

Hagerstown held a 5-0 lead after two before Shelby Wheeler hit an RBI single in the third to get the Riverhawks on the board. After surrendering one in the bottom of the inning, AACC got two back in the fourth by drawing a pair of bases-loaded walks, then tied it in the fifth with three runs. Andrew Revels, who reached on a single, scored on an infield error before John Shupe drove in two with a single to center.

Matt Conlon took the loss for AACC, allowing 14 hits and seven runs while striking out one and walking none in five innings. Drew Ehrlich finished game one 2-for-4 at the plate to lead AACC in the game. 

The Riverhawks scored first in game two, as Ian Sterling hit an RBI single in the second inning. Hagerstown responded with eight unanswered runs, scoring four in the bottom of the inning, three in the third, and another in the fourth

Caleb Musco was chased out early for the Riverhawks, allowing seven runs on nine hits through two and one-thirds innings. Relievers Zachary Rees and Thomas McNamara combined for a one-hitter through the remainder of the game.

AACC returns to action Tuesday facing familiar foe CCBC-Catonsville in a single game at 3:30 pm in Catonsville. The Cardinals won the teams' previous meeting just last week, 13-8, after a 10-run sixth inning.
