NOVA Shuts Out Volleyball

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team fell to visiting Division II Northern Virginia Thursday evening despite playing some of their best volleyball of the season. The Riverhawks were full of energy and posted some thrilling rallies.

NOVA won the match, 3-0, with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, and 25-12. The Nighthawks jumped out to a 12-1 lead in the final set, but AACC clawed its way back.

Sylvia Frye led AACC with a pair of aces and kills to go with three digs. Myani Davis added an ace and three digs, while Karen Bautista Carmona recorded two kills.

The Riverhawks (7-4) travel to Butler County Community College Saturday for a tri-match against the Pioneers and Westmoreland.
