Volleyball Wins Opener at Allegany

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team opened the season with a dominant win at Allegany Tuesday evening. The Riverhawks defeated the Trojans, 3-0.

AACC won via game scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-17. The season-opening victory marked the first for the Riverhawks since a 3-0 win over Chesapeake in the 2015 season.

The win was extra-special for first-year head coach Tatiana Cooper, as she earned her first collegiate victory on her birthday.

Sylvia Frye had a strong service game for AACC, posting 15 points off of 22 serves with six aces. Taliyah Johnson and Grace Lindemann were impressive in their collegiate debuts with Johnson recording 12 points on 14 serves and Lindemann recording nine assists.

AACC hosts Chesapeake on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6 pm in the Riverhawks' home opener.
