This was opening day for the Riverhawks of AACC and it was on the road – facing the NJCAA DII Region XX Trojans of Allegany College of Maryland. Although they fought back hard from season opener jitters apparent in set one, it just wasn't enough to get the win.
SET 1: First match/first set of the season for the Riverhawks proved to be a tough one as they struggled to find their rhythm – losing 25-8.
SET 2: Settling down and focusing their skills, AACC responds aggressively and takes set two - 25-17.
SET 3: Now battling at a tied up match, both teams worked to gain the edge with ACM taking it 25-21.
SET 4: In a must win set, the Riverhawks put in the full effort but were edged out, 25-20, by the Trojans. ACM secures match victory 3-1.

The Riverhawks next contest will be a home match on Tuesday September 5th set for 6:00 pm. AACC will need to prepare themselves for the tough match-up against the NJCAA DII Region XX Hawks of Hagerstown. Fans can come watch the action in the Jenkins Gymnasium at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD.
