Four From Women's Soccer Named All-MDJUCO

ARNOLD, MD – Four members of the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team have been named to the All-Maryland JUCO Women's Soccer Teams, it was announced late Tuesday. Sophomores Alessandra Gargano and Hannah Hopkins earned Second Team Honors, while sophomores Aileen Rivera Cubero and Sudy Choc-Ramirez were named Honorable Mention.

Gargano started all 14 games at defense, anchoring the Riverhawks' back line in addition to providing backbone to the transition game. Gargano scored four goals and added an assist. She recorded a career-high five points on two goals and an assist in a win at Hagerstown on September 17. The honor marks the second of Gargano's career; she earned Second Team All-MDJUCO in 2018.

Hopkins was a key playmaker in AACC's midfield, starting all 14 games. She scored the lone goal in a loss to Essex on September 6, had a pair of assists in a win against Catonsville on September 27. He added a goal in a win against Potomac State on October 5.

Rivera Cubero led the Riverhawks in speed and scoring, with eight goals and an assist on the in 14 games. At the Howard Dragons Tournament in September, she scored four goals – two against Fashion Institute of Technology and a pair against Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester. She had the game-winning goal against FIT and Potomac State.

Choc-Ramirez started every game in which she played, totaling 11 points on four goals and three assists. She scored two goals  - including the game-winner - in a win against the College of Southern Maryland on September 12. She picked up an assist against FIT, and followed with a goal and an assist in a win at Hagerstown on September 17. She scored her fourth goal of the season in a win over Potomac State on October 5.

AACC wrapped up the year at 7-7 with an appearance in the Region XX Semifinals.
