Women's Soccer Sails Past Catonsville

ARNOLD, MD – Aileen Rivera scored just 14 seconds into the game and the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team never looked back in a 9-1 win over visiting CCBC Catonsville Friday. Rivera finished the night with a pair of goals, as did Hannah Gartner.

Lyzbeth Choc-Ramirez, Morgan Argubright, Chloe Augustin, and Allesandra Gargano each added a goal, and Alyssa Begunich chipped in with a goal and an assist. Hannah Hopkins recorded a pair of helpers, and Amaya Odgers added an assist.

The Riverhawks held a 3-0 lead by the 7th minute on Begunich's tally bookended by the pair from Rivera Cubero.

Gargano and Argubright scored in the 54th and 58th minute for a 5-0 lead before another pair of goals four minutes apart from Augustin (65') and Lyzbeth Choc-Ramirez (69').

Catonsville got one back in the 72nd minute to make it 7-1, AACC, but Hannah Gartner scored twice in the final eight minutes.

Sarah Ward made one save in the win as AACC outshot Catonsville at a 35-2 clip. Cardinals goalkeeper Jenna Dade made 12 saves.

The Riverhawks (6-5) travel to Carroll for a 2 pm game on Tuesday, October 1st.
