Riverhawks Soar Past Nassau in Home Opener

ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College's women's lacrosse team opened up their 2017 season with a 19-6 home victory over the Region 15 Lions from Nassau Community College of NY.

 

Eight different players scored for the Riverhawks, with Renee Ruppert, Alyssa Baronella-O'Toole, Emily Rowe, and Madeline Szanyi all netting hat-tricks. Sophia Michael had five assists with her two goals, Caitlyn Shriver had two goals and two assists, Alyssa Yates had two goals, and MacKenzie Schwartz had one goal.

 

Defending the pipes for the Riverhawks, Victoria Mattoon recorded four saves and three groundballs.

 

Rowe and Baronella-O'Toole claimed the majority of the draw controls for AACC with six and five, respectively.

 

The Riverhawks will hit the road for their next match-up against the College of Southern Maryland. Draw is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
