CATONSVILLE, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College softball team ran into a tough CCBC Catonsville team Tuesday afternoon, falling 3-0 and 7-0 in doubleheader action. The Riverhawks combined for seven hits on the day, incuding a double from Gracie Culley.

In the opener, the Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and added two in the sixth for the 3-0 win. AACC threatened in the second with runners on second and third and no outs, but two quick strikeouts and a groundout ended the inning. Catonsville pitcher Marissa Heuer struck out nine in the game to improve to 15-1 on the season.

In the nightcap, the Cardinals held a 3-0 lead after three innings, and added four over the next three innings to take the win.

The Riverhawks had runners on second and third in the second thanks to Culley's double, but Cardinals' pitcher Akirra Pullen struck out the next batter and induced an infield groundout to end the threat. Pullen struck out six and scattered four hits in the win

Culley took the first game loss, a complete-game effort, striking out five and scattering five hits through six innings. Game two starter Veronica Hampton took the second game loss, giving up three runs on three hits in one inning
