Game Notes
ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel CC Riverhawks and the Mercer Vikings each picked up a win on Saturday afternoon in two very different ways. After going scoreless for four innings, the Riverhawks were able to get on the board at the top of the 5th and hold on to that one run for a shutout victory, 1-0, in the first game. However, the tide turned in the second game as Mercer dominated game two, shutting out the Riverhawks 0-16.
GAME ONE
With solid pitching by AACC's freshman, Gracie Culley striking out 6, and the tough performance of the Riverhawks defense, the Mercer Knights would record only 4 hits with no player every getting on base. Culley would also score the lone run for the Riverhawks at the top of the 5th inning, getting her first win of the season.
GAME TWO
The start of game two saw the Riverhawks facing a different team in the Mercer Knights, as they came out and scored a run in the 1st inning and would continue to score in every inning, 2 runs in the 2nd, 6 runs in the 3rd and finished it off with 7 runs in the fourth to ultimately put the game out of reach.
