Game 1 Notes

Frederick took the lead on a three run homer in the first inning, quickly setting the tone for the game and never looking back. Despite a scoreless third inning, the Cougars otherwise earned runs each inning ahead of the Riverhawks who would score their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.

The Cougars finished even stronger than they began; scoring six runs in the sixth inning as they ultimately earned the, 13-1, win over the Riverhawks.

Journey Ferguson (Glen Burnie, MD/North County) went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Riverhawks in hits. Kaitlyn Nutwell (Deale, MD/Southern) led things off on the hill for AACC, allowing two hits and three runs, walking one. Logan Endley-Abbott (Pasadena, MD/Chesapeake) and Sophia Dinch (Pasadena, MD) entered the game as relief, throwing five innings and one inning respectively.

Game 2 Notes

The Riverhawks would exhibit quite the comeback in game two against the Cougars who lead off with a dominating seven runs in the first inning, followed by another four runs in the second. Riverhawks would answer with an impressive six runs of their own in the first, including a three run homer by Sophia Dinch (Pasadena, MD), yet AACC would still trail, 11-7, heading into the bottom of the fourth.

Collecting 10 hits in the bottom of the fourth, the Riverhawks would score 12 runs to claim the 19-11 lead over the Cougars, including another AACC home run (2R) by Katherine Rosati (Crofton, MD/Arundel). With the Cougars unable to respond to the hot bats of the Riverhawks, AACC would earn the 19-11 victory after 5 innings.
